The theme for February's competition is "Prime".

Seeing as we're a bit late getting this one up and running, I've tried to make it as open ended as possible. And so, I've chosen the theme of "Prime" and, by that, I mean photos taken with a prime lens. Whilst zoom lenses are extrememly versatile, there's something satisfying about taking a great photo with a fixed lens, and the "look" of a prime lens photo can be hard to beat.

So, the subject matter is down to you guys, as long as it's taken with a prime lens!

Just one rule in additon to the list below (and this seems to get asked quite often) - you can only submit one, and only one, photo.

Good luck everyone!

Rules:
The photos taken must be your own work and can be taken at anytime, but please get out with your gear if you have time.
The competition will run from the first to the last day of the month.
The winner from the previous month decides on the topic for the following month and judges it at the end of the month.
Entries and discussion on this single thread, please.
All entrants acknowledge that they may indeed win and that their adherence to convention ensures everyone else's continued fun.
Photos entered can be as large as you like, although bear in mind if too large, it may not be possible to see the whole image on some screens. Links to larger versions are permissible.

Bit of a background story to this 'prime' lens shot - its taken with an old all-manual M42 Chinon 135mm/f2.8 lens that was bought at a car boot sale for the princly sum of £2..

Best £2 I have ever spent - it gives some wonderful images when paired with my Fuji X-T1

Always used a prime lens, they have such a dreamy feel when used wide open, stepped down they are incredibly sharp.

Taken from a recent shoot, the model had a nice ORIS Automatic, so had to snap that.

/ Canon 5dmkii
/ 85mm f1/8 (my favorite)
/ ISO 100

Canon EOS R @ ISO200 and Samyang 14mm f2.8 for 17.7secs (no idea on the aperture as it's a full manual lens and it doesn't report back to the camera). No editing other than a tiny amount of colour grading.
