Are captive animals wildlife?
Technically yes.

The crocs in that set are in a small conservation reserve allied to St Lucia Nature Reserve. Over 1000 live there. We saw around 40-odd. In the Park proper there are more plus hippos.

The rest are from uShaka Marine World.

This morning I had about 30 minutes in the local park to experiment with my new camera. The squirrels were obliging and I got to experience the wonders of animal subject detection autofocus.

I’m toying with the idea of getting a Sony 200-600 as the 70-200 doesn’t cut it for wildlife, but can you tell me about how far you were away from the squirrel and what lens you used ? I can’t crop in too much as my camera is only a Sony A7iii .

Thank you.

I was about 8 yards away (on my balcony) using a Sony A6300 (crop sensor), and with the Tamron 18 - 300. Which is great, but has obvious limitations - soft at the edges etc).
