One of my many photographic fetishes is anything back-lit and I'm often ridiculed by Mrs N for getting enthused by back-lit leaves on the trees.

Any subject as long as the light is shining through or round it.

To be judged on all fools day, make of that what you will.

Rules as usual:

The photos taken must be your own work
The competition will run from the first to the last day of the month.
The winner from the previous month decides on the topic for following month and judges it at the end of the month
Entries and discussion on a single thread, please.
All entrants acknowledge that they may indeed win and that their adherence to convention ensures everyone else's continued fun.
Winners should update the Competition Wiki (it's easy)
Photos entered can be as large as you like, although bear in mind if too large, it may not be possible to see the whole image on some screens. Links to larger versions are permissible

Does this qualify as 'backlit' enough?

If not, I'll have another go smile

It's OK by me, if you decide you'd prefer to enter another image later post it up and make it clear which is the entry.

Just for clarity: back-lit doesn't necessarily mean silhouette.

Well, it's back-lit, but not in the traditional sense.

Peace

Magical moment at Pen Ponds in Richmond Park during September last year. Perhaps because of the warm weather, soon after the sun rose this stag decided to swim to the middle of Pen Ponds and chill. Cue a good handful of photographers running all around the pond.

Cantley Sugar Beet factory in Norfolk taken from a Tiger Moth shortly after departure from Ludham strip early in the morning.
Destination was Little Gransden in order to have a magneto rewound.

I think something has gone wrong with your link there, Jayson.

The link is working, It's probably because I uploaded it to Flickr in order to share it, then removed it.
It's still on Flickr if you care to trawl through all the aerial shots.

Interesting you seem to think the link is working.
When I click on the link for the photo, it just takes me to FlickR Explore page.
Clicking on your name, goes to your photostream.

As I was at least a little interested, I did glance through a few photos on the photostream, but no sugar beet factory in evidence - mainly photos of some airliners, and a lime-green Fiat 500.

Perhaps you'd care to fix the link which definitely isn't working, so others can see the photo you're referring to, as I, for one, and I suspect several others really don't care to 'trawl through all the aerial shots' in some attempt to locate the missing photo?

In fact, it would probably have taken less time for you to update your original post with a working link, than to type the response you did above.

Or you could just view the picture I just posted?
I did a re-edit so that the image was sans watermark and border.
The original is on Flickr under 'aerial images'
I didn't want a duplicate on Flickr, hope this clarifies.

Sorry mate, but I've tried clicking on the links to the photo name, and your name again, and still get the same results (takes me to FlickR Explore, or your photostream).

Clicking on the small box where an image should be takes me to this:

I've also tried when logged in to FlickR, and when logged out. I've also tried it using Firefox, Chrome, and Safari and get exactly the same results.

It really is no biggie as far as I'm concerned, but just thought you might like to know that the link you posted does not work for me, and that I suspect others may also be unable to see the photo you are trying to link to.

You have something like 1,400 images in that one folder. I did start skimming through (once I found that folder amongst your 100+ others), but quickly got bored.

Thanks for editing the link or Flickr - it now works, and it's a lovely shot. But please don't give us all attitude.
