Wasn't meant to come across as 'sniffy'.
Yes your right to say It's more than 5% photographic ability, that was an exaggeration in order to get the point across.
I stand by what I said though, you need to be a 'people person'.
Worth bearing in mind that there are wedding togs that charge £500 and those that charge £2000 plus and their results reflect this.
Photographers all have their strengths and weaknesses.
I consider myself good at panning and have an extremely steady hand.
My weakness is that I'm at a difficult age so not great with tech and subsequently am constantly learning editing skills.
And like I said, I'm not a people person.

Good reply, thanks for clarifying smile

I'll be the first to admit that the genre goes from the superb to the bloody awful. I had the misfortune to meet a complete buffoon at an awards ceremony last year; he had a basic DSLR with kit lens and pop-up flash... There were about a dozen prize-winners, of which I was one. 'Did you get a good one of me?' I asked afterwards. 'Sorry mate I was on the other side of the room chatting with some friends'. Dude, you had ONE job and 12 shots to take banghead

Later he was outside taking group photos in total darkness with the flash set to that strobing anti-red-eye mode. Every shot he took was dreadful.

He really shouldn't be allowed to own a camera.
