There's nothing in their terms and conditions barring an individual from having multiple accounts...

Too much hassle, and then when you add in P&P it doesn't look that great.

Took us about 20 minutes to set it up, then 5 lots of downloads. We got 390 prints for £9.95 including postage and packing. 2.5p per print - not that bad to be honest

I'm tight Justin , and like you I was so mad when I found that the offer wasn't quite how it was advertised that I was determined to get round it. Actually thought that a lot of the marketing around that site was quite cynical, so I didn't really have any pangs of guilt in twisting it to suit myself.

I don't mean to be intrusive but can I ask what you use that number of prints for? Are they 390 different images or 390 of the same one or something in between?

They are industrial scale numbers, in my terms at least, and though I would love the price I can't see where or how I could generate that much demand. Or why.

Maybe I'm missing an opportunity?

Perhaps I could persuade Mrs. LongQ to use them, I'm sure she could generate the volumes you mention. Would put Boots out of business though and I really don't wish an avalanche of average snapshots (or worse) on the more distant family.

I just sent off 550.

Some of us like taking pictures - that was just 3 months worth for me.

But what do you do with them? Are they for albums, for sharing with friends and family or perhaps for commercial purposes?

Might not be a good idea to let Mrs. LQ loose with this sort of thing as the cost of building an extension to house the albums may outweigh the savings from the printing ...

About 250 of them were my sister's pics from her holiday in China. She put us up for Christmas and wouldn't let us contribute anything to the food, so I took her images, photoshopped them and am putting them in to albums so that she can annotate them. As a thank-you.

The rest are photos that Mr Rude and I have taken. We go out walking at least one day every weekend and I like to make albums up to record the year. I put in photos of places, events, friends, write memories down, save entry tickets to things we've enjoyed, wine labels etc. And then give it to him for our anniversary.

Then there are a few that I've done for my mum.

We keep thousands of images on the computer and on DVDs, but there's really nothing like having a coffee and flicking through a few pages of an album.

Ah, I agree with that totally and the breakdown of the distribution makes sense. Thanks for the explanation.

I had this vision of people printing hundreds of copies of the same thing and handing them out to people in the streets!

Worse, I imagined them doing it on a regular basis! But if the numbers come from publishing relatively well spaced events, like holiday, it makes more sense to me. Still a lot of pics to store though, even without an album overhead. But I imagine your regular orders would be for somewhat lesser numbers?

I guess this is really only viable at those volumes of separate files with a minimum of broadband upload speeds. Might try a few at dial up speeds just to see what happens.

It's definitely a Broadband game!!

Mr Rude and I probably take about 2-300 shots between us each weekend, choose what we want to print and then I save them up and get them done about every 3 months. Probably about 120 at a time. Some of them get chucked out because they don't look the same on paper as we expected.

I know that someone like Joust is a lot more prolific than me - but then that shows in the quality of his photographs!

Recieved a print from snapfish, thought Photobox quality is lots better than snapfish. I wouldn't use them in the future.

I got a laughable reply from snapfish today about why their ordering system wouldn't accept my order.

Apparently, although I live in the UK, and tried three credit cards that I obtained in the UK, I need a UK registered credit card to order from them.

So, that's great customer service.

As to the pictures, they all make their way into albums. I like to keep regular records of trips, holidays and just fun things we see on our travels.

Not all the printed ones make it into the albums, but it's usually around 1000 digital photos a month of which 2-300 get printed of which ~100 go into albums. At 4-5 pictures per page that's only 10 leafs per month or 2 albums per year.

Well J, it looks like they did you a favour by rejecting your order...

One set of prints arrived today - the rest haven't even been dispatched yet. I won't be too upset if they don't do the rest, they're not great quality.

OK, that all stacks up.

Mrs LQ tends to go for larger sized prints I suspect so we end up with 2 pics per side, so 4 per leaf, though no doubt she could cram more in if she tried, so the the required storage capacity is that much greater.

Would not be so bad if the shots she selected were more than just average group shots of the daughters and the daughters with groups of friends, usually with utterly appalling backgrounds.

Sometimes one despairs ...
