Neat Image can be used as a PS plugin. Thats what their website says anyway. Im using it stand alone when i do so i cant tell you whether the plugin works well. neat image as a product is very good though. www.neatimage.com... you can use it for free but the unregistered version wont save tiff files.

I've not been idle; I now have NeatImage and it works well and I can save TIF files. Hurrah!

However I can't see how to make it run as a PS plug-in. I have CS and CS2 but usually use CS.

RICH FUNCTIONALITY AND HIGH PERFORMANCE
of Neat Image enables both beginners and experienced users to achieve great results easily and quickly

* Neat Image can be used in both Photoshop-centric and standalone workflow
o Photoshop plug-in version of Neat Image enables applying noise reduction and sharpening exactly where is required: in a layer, channel, or selection
The plug-in also fully respects transparency of image data like the Photoshop built-in filters do. You can apply Neat Image noise reduction with different strength to different parts of the image.

o Neat Image plug-in can run in Photoshop actions and apply required analysis and filtration completely automatically

o You can automatically batch process many images using the Photoshop batch facility and an action that includes the Neat Image plug-in

o Neat Image plug-in can be used with the following plug-in hosts:
+ Adobe Photoshop CS2 / CS / 7 / 6 / 5
+ Adobe Photoshop Elements 4 / 3 / 2
+ Corel / Jasc Paint Shop Pro X / 10 / 9 / 8 / 7
+ Ulead PhotoImpact 8 / 10 / XL
+ Corel Photopaint
+ PhotoLine32
+ Microsoft Digital Image Pro
+ IrfanView

Any ideas folks?

There's a single file that you copy into a plugins folder on your C drive . . . then it appears under the filters dropdown menu . . . I'm not at a machine with PS on at present, if nobody has solved by the time I do then I'll dig out the info . . .

Did you buy it (assume you did as it saves TIFFs) . . . because if it's the free version it doesn't (IIRC) work as a PS plugin . . .

I know, I'll look at all the files in the NeatImage folder and see if anything looks promising.

This may be it.... 'HowToInstallPlugin.txt'
