Why does my PC try 'verifying my username+password' TWICE?

now here's my pasted-in copy of my dialup process.
as ive noticed it nowadays takes longer than usual to login, an always seems to do the final dial-up command line twice! - so do i need to delete a doubled-up command some place, an if so where?

The only bad thing this indicates is that you're using Microsoft software. Apart from that there's nothing to worry about. "They all do that sir."

Looks like either the NTL boys have taken down a primary authentication server, or you are being very unlucky on a regular basis. In theory, it only does the verifying thing once.
