Last seen in a dodgy Jazz club in North London, and the orchestra pit of Mamma Mia in the West End.

Gripped by curiosity, here. But I can't realistically trawl back through all 136 pages of posts dating back to 2006. Did something happen to the original TransportTed?

I've travelled with a bear since my wife sent me this wee fella...

...way back in 1991. He arrived in Iraq in a parcel just prior to the Gulf War, and has accompanied me to various places over the years. He's lasted well for a (whisper, so he can't hear this) cheap, throwaway 'Clinton Cards' gift, too. He's crewed a Chieftain AVRE tank, an armoured personnel carrier, most run-of-the-mill military wheeled vehicles, all the way up to a container lifter. He's visited Germany, France, Netherlands, Cyprus, Canada, and Kenya. Even a brief (refuelling stop) in Bangor, Maine, USA. Four crossings of the Atlantic and more than half a dozen crossings of the Equator. Since we retired from the army we've confined our travels to within the UK. The photo was taken on a restored Ferret scout car at Chalke Valley History Festival. I (or rather, we) served together in 3 Field Squadron RE and that's the squadron badge (broken windmill) on the turret. The medals are my miniatures. My wife insisted that he should wear them because he'd earned a set too. They're a little bit on the big side for him, though, and I had to spend hours hand stitching a little jumper for him out of an old sock (Royal Engineers Corps colours) because I couldn't stomach the thought of driving the mounting pin directly into his furry little chest. I couldn't part with the little guy, not even temporarily, so I'm not offering him up as part of this game, but if Mrs Ted wants sweeping off her feet, I know just the bear for the job wink

Ted disappeared without warning. Maybe he'd had enough of travelling and wanted to settle down and live a quiet life, or maybe he was eaten by a dog, we don't know. And so he was replaced by Mrs Ted, who is slightly smaller.

June - if Mrs Ted is interested, I can offer her an all-expenses paid trip on a 69' narrowboat down the River Avon through Stratford and the delightful Vale of Evesham.

Obviously if someone is going kite-surfing in the Amazon jungle or fire-walking in Antarctica then they get the gig hehe
When in June? If it’s after the 8th I can offer her a tan top up in Greece prior to your trip..

Has Mrs Ted been to Portugal?

Still very early in the planning stage, so unsure of dates, but late July / early August as a rough guide, and I fully admit I have taken her to Ireland before!

Please don't add me to her diary until I have dates set and she wants to travel!

Somehow never spotted this thread before: good to see Ted’s most excellent adventures!

I have not manage to get through all the pictures and places: has Ted been to a music fesTedval?
I imagine so, but we will be in Southwold for Latitude at the back end of July: I’d be delighted to host her for a week or so…the pink sheep always make for a good shot hehe

Have sent you my address. I've just looked back through her adventures (she last came looking for Mr Ted with us in 2009 and 2011!) At this point, I think she's just freeloading her way around the world and has lost sight of her objective...

Ah, bit too tight, sadly!
We will leave (Leicester) first thing on the 24th (staying overnight nearby before the festival opens on 25th).

I’ll find another adventure for Ted later…..

I am heading down to the Isle of Wight for a couple of weeks at the start of October….it’s a big B’day for me, a few things in Leicester with pals before that, then down to the birthplace for some chilled family time as I turn over another decade….he could join in some of that.
Could take him up Tednison Down (named after Alfred Lord Tednison wink) to look out over the Needles….handy if he needs any repairs…..
Maybe down to CompTed Beach to search for dinosaur footprints….
I’d be sure he would be tree-Ted with the utmost respect!
