I've only just seen this thread. I have to say that I am blown away by these shots. An absolutely superb set of images making fine use of some excellent locations and backdrops. The tunnel shot is my favourite - excellent use of colour and line and it has a slightly unnerving quality that I really like.

Right! I'm off for a cry...

Come on then steve, let's have some constructive criticism of how you would have improved the photos that you don't like?

Sure, no problem.

On some of them the PP seems a bit unsubtle, too much contrast & saturation.

Not all of the Ferrari logo has captured that nice bright light

DoF too shallow

I think this would have been better shot at an angle, and polarized which would have deepened the colour and lost the relections around the top of the mesh

Not sure if the reflection of the car wheel in the wheel nuts is intentional or not, but it doesn't work for me. DoF not centred

Should have pointed this one out too. I like this, very nice tone & bokeh

Longer focal length, exactly 90degrees rather than the slight tilt. Shoot after sunset. TBH the compostition just doesn't do much for me though

Shoot more side on to compress the gap between headlamp & badge (clearly the details you're trying to show). The tilt bothers me too, its about 3-4 degrees off horizontal

Composition doesn't work for me - doesn't look at ease with its surroundings. Side reflection is distracting, it appears you polarized for the bonnet - if I'd taken this I'd have been tempted to shoot another frame polarized for the side then merge in PP

Too much going on in the background & car doesn't work with its surroundings. I think a shot against just the pile in the left foreground, lower down and cropped more f70%/s30% would have looked pretty good (something akin to Matts shot of the Vantage against slate if you know what I mean)

Sharp in the wrong place. Like the idea (I love big whooshy pans), but I think its essential to have the front of the car in focus. Plant growth coming into view detracts from the image

Composition a bit flat, doesn't do much for me. Its not perfectly horizontal or centred either

I honestly thought Steve was pulling your leg. Blimey! I thought I was hyper-critical hehe

Agree that composition of shot of car cornering isn't quite right (I'd have located it down a bit and left a bit) but I haven't managed to do anything better myself biglaugh

Examples?

You asked for constructive critism. I'm not saying "I'm better" just giving my opinion of why those shots aren't top notch IMHO.

OK, I won't go into most of them because I can't argue that your opinion is wrong. But here are a few from the last post you did

"I think its essential to have the front of the car in focus"

"Its not perfectly horizontal"

"Not all of the Ferrari[Maserati] logo has captured that nice bright light[shadow in bottom left]"
