What with the outbursts over my non-photo winning this month and the feeling of it being aimed at pros this month I have to say give me the judge a bit more credit.
To be fair, the "outbursts" were bks hehe
top of the class, you sire should enter for just a special mention at the very least hehe
I guess I'll be at the bottom of the class then flicking chewed up bits of paper at miniman, the teachers's pet. hehe

I'll probably go with one of these unless I take something better by the end of the month.

I was trying to be a bit tongue in cheek on my "pro's" comments - I'll certainly be trying my best and will be submitting an entry.

Can I just ask how we define a portrait though?

Does it have to show the face for example? Or can you have a portrait of someone from behind? For example, as in one of the OP's early posts of his little girl walking away.

Does it have to be a human or can it be an animal?

Or is it as wide as possible and interpret it as you see fit?

Ta (not trying to be funny or anything!)

I've just taken these three of my youngest, who fell asleep while I was cooking. Although I've had my camera a couple of years, I've not really got the hang of it but have enrolled on an OU course so hopefully I'll learn what I'm supposed to be doing soon !

Do I need to resize these ? - I thought size was ok according to photobucket but they look big on here frown

1. Meant to compose the first one of a SuperGT driver a bit better but got a bit distracted....whistle

2. The 2nd is from the FoS this year, if I enter something it will probably be this one.

3. 3rd one, from the Revival 08, unfortunately her face is in the shade

4. Cheeky last one, not a great portrait I suppose as there's no eye contact but....couldn't resist showing it anyway. wink

C&C welcome - do you agree no.2 is the way forward?

The neices

And if we are going back in time with old photos this is a 40 year old portrait of my wife when she was 18 (the 'inspiration' was the 'Hair (The Musical)' album cover!)

Any thoughts as to which one to enter?

Just a reminder, shots that are too big (longest side greater than 1024x768) will be either discounted or penalised in my judgement. Its a major gripe of mine. If you are unsure about how to post an image then please read this thread here
I'm a bit confused. Can entries be 1024x768 or max height/width 750 (as per the link you provided)?

For example, is this too big?

ETA I think I understand. 1024x768 is fine because it gets squashified without distortion, yes?

+1

Certainly more aimed at the Pro's than the rest of us which is a shame.
Dont think like that, i entered the 'landscapes ' one a few months back with a pic i took with a point and shoot, slight increase in contrast in photoshop and came second.
