Have you a plan in place for when you lad, a couple of years down the road, starts to question your use of his image in so much public material and asks where his cut is?
Don't get me wrong, I think it's great, but kids and the modern world and all that ......

He modelled me for me in a studio shoot and was charging me a fiver for the pleasure, his rates then went up half way through the session when he was informed by the studio owner that a fiver wasn't even minimum wage! I text him about making the cover and his reply was "epic" so hopefully I got this shot for free

Agreed,The alternative (turning it into a feature) may not go down well wirh the main subject. Or even the tree.
THere is, however, a danger that in about 20 years from now you may look back on this moment and decide that an enhancement of the fuzzy portion, rather than removal, would have been more appropriate. With hindsight.
I would advise keeping the original just in case ....

Original RAW is around 11Mb . . . 11Mb no real problem these days. Think yourslef luck you don't have Nikon D800 (72Mb or thereabouts ... apparently.)
