Yeah, it's been raining a bit - and yes the Griff will benefit when I've been down to Halfwits and got the silica gel......

Anybody got any tips for a CHEAPish underwater solution - not going diving, just for snorkelling and beach?

Seems to me to be three alternatives:

Underwater housings for my SLR bodies are steeper than a steep cliff on a steep day, tilted to be a bit steeper.

A new compact digital would be nice and a housing comes in at the £100-140 mark.

A secondhand Nikonos would also be nice but wouldn't get used very much.

I bought an IXUS 400 and the underwater case for it and they results are excellent, but as you say the case isn't cheap at £100 plus.

I also bought an Aquapac, which is an excellent piece of kit: www.aquapac.co.uk/

Bit scary the first time you take it in the water though.

Take a look at: www.camerasunderwater.co.uk/ They have a variety of solutions from zip lock plastic bags you put your camera in through dedicated undrwater cameras and housings.

Thanks guys - that looks a really good site for all sorts of stuff! And the idea of the digital and housing still appeals too!!

Still some thinking to do then!
