I thought I'd take some quick snaps of Jeffrey to show you chaps whilst he was dining. Not great images, but I thought you might like to see him! hehe

He's still only half the size he will get to so he's on meal worms at the moment. Fascinating to watch him catch and eat them though and then most fascinating of all to me, he cleans himself thoroughly like a cat.

Thanks DD just done some research on BDS (British Dragonfly Society). Any idea on which one of the many blue Damsel flies it might be?

Red looks like a Common Darter to me.

DD, you OK?

London not done/doing funny things to your head?

Those are fine shots but the sentiment behind them (as per your Flickr notes) is just a tad worrying.

What next? Resign your job and head into the professional flea circus tour?

wink

hehe My head was already funny before I went down south biggrin

I'm sure the other macro togs would agree with me that you do develop an affinity for the little guys after a while. And George the hoverfly did need a helping hand smile

Hmm.

I'm not unsympathetic to that opinion .... but ....

Really pleased with the capabilities of this new Canon 100mm lens. Opened up a new world of photo opportunities for me! Especially on days when the birds just aren't coming out to play.

Dragonfly

Common Blue Damselflies

And a common blue butterfly

Love the shots of insects / spiders consuming prey - awesome images.

Common Blue Damselflies
These didn't look right for common blue (markings are all in the wrong places) and after a bit of working out I've decided they are a rather nice Blue-tailed damselfly (Ischnura elegans) pair smile
