On an apple tree in the garden - a pupa of the Harlequin Ladybird. Composite of two images combined in PSE.

Why the composite shot ?
The pupa is on top of the discarded larval skin (the spiky bit). I wanted that in focus as well as the side of the pupa. I focussed on the spiky bit for the first shot then moved in 1mm or so for the second. I then "cloned" the spikes onto the shot with the pupa in focus (and the spikes OOF). I don't have any "stacker" software (like Zerene Stacker), and this technique works quite well.

/\ superb detail and clarity on those Bee shots. From the 1st one looks like he has some damage to his left eye.

Probably a miniature camera - Robobee, a drone sent by the CIA so suss out what DD is up to. wink
