At last! Pure luck; when I pressed the shutter her mouth was closed. The flash could have done a bit more though.

Any more good cat shots out there?

Simpo and srider. Great pics and gorgeous cat srider.

I'll have to get my photos out the loft to dig out my champion lucky pussy shot!

(I seem to have lost loads of photos when I moved. Hoping they are all in a box in the loft somewhere).

Thanks. He's a Bengal if anyone's interested. His great great great great great grandfather was an Asian Leopard cat!

This is my other (Heinz 57) cat, Dizzy.

Marshy, was it in my imagination, didn't you post one of your cats face earlier? It has vanished, I thought it was a good photo, I can never get my cats eyes to look anything other than scary!

If you quote my post it will be able to see the text format I used to get the pic to show.

Oh and Marshy, sorry a case of mistaken identity!

I expected to find a picture of a cat called "lucky" which in a strange ironic twist of fate, had been shot...

PH never ceases to surprise me..

Aha, I can see it now - nice shot and very nice cat - Bengals are cool. Trouble is when I was looking for Rumpuss the cat rescue place didn't have any posh breeds - just boot-faced cats with ears like old bus tickets!

ok, can someone explain 'panning' to me please? I know that you're talking about moving the camera not giving the cat a good pasting!

Edited to add, Gorgeous Bengal.

You got the answer already! Panning just means moving the camera to keep up with a moving subject, so the subject stays roughly sharp and the background blurs. The amount of blur you get is controlled by the shutter speed - eg with cars you can freeze the motion dead (which can look unnatural) or use a slower shutter speed - maybe 1/125 - to get the wheels blurred. Easy!

(You're not related to Cosmos by any chance?)

Edited 'cos I typed blue instead of blur :sigh:

Ah, thought as much, thanks for the explanation. Not that I'll ever need it, my two moggies are hard pressed to walk to their food bowls.

I get my new camera tomorrow!!!
