Not brilliant but he never seems to stay still, everytime I'd set up for a shot he'd come trundling over for a stroke

Too true amigo. Cats are a pain in the ass. I tried to take a picture of my mates cat: It was perfectly still and i got my macro right up close... pressed the shutter... but forgot i had the flash on.

Now every time it sees my camera it leggs it in the oppoite direction.
