Is that couple supposed to be part of the shot? If not I bet they were shocked to turn and see you with the camera and tripod pointing towards them laugh

One from a wedding reception:

They were down during the day yesterday - they retract up and down.

I hope that they are still there in a week or so since my SLR broke the first week of the Games when I was down there taking photos of them and I would like to get some decent shots befoe they are taken down for good

The bridge was closed off to all vehicles last night, with a lot of ground security directing the public that was on foot to one side of the footpath on the bridge, away from the side that the rings were mounted on. There was a team of workers on the footbridge/observation deck that looked like they were taking the rings off...

Will have to get confirmation on if they are actually gone or still up. I would have thought they were going to keep them on until after the Paralympic Games had finished. Will post up if I do find out if they are still on or not.

The couple were not supposed to be a part of the shot, but they were getting busy rather rapidly! They stayed there for about 45 minutes in total. Waited 15 minutes, to see if they would budge, but nothing. So just started shooting!

Was tempted to book them into the nearest Premier Inn myself at one point!

Thanks for letting me know - looks like I should have bought a new camera last week.

At least I have some but on a rather ancient 20D (now deceased) and handheld.

Anyone else on here use a 20D and need a grip?

Love this one. Amazing how still people sit!

p.s does it need a tiny bit of anti clockwise rotation? Maybe just me.

Grabbed this one, which apparently will be making an appearance in the local paper.

That is very nice. The satellite itself is boring so you need some good foreground, or a very good wide-field night sky.

I've just been messing around with a blue laser in the garden. There's an application here I haven't quite worked out, need a more interesting subject.

Thanks, I think you may be right on the rotation front. I hadn't really noticed it until you mentioned it but now its all I see! The camera was just resting on the bridge parapet so it was difficult to get it level, back to lightroom it is then.....
