The King Parrot came back today. This time I got the DSLR out - these were all taken with the 55mm lens.

I’ve never photographed a green woodpecker or a peregrine in the wild before. Here I got both at Bushy Park recently
That's a great shot. I've got a couple of the local peregrines around me in central london but never quite managed one carrying back prey!

Nice.

That camera is just ridiculous in terms of what it can deliver at maximum zoom.

In the right hands, of course.

Agreed - ridiculously good really. I personally wouldn't use it above iso800 so you need good light but in the right conditions it's a great bit of kit.

Cheers thumbup

I have the cheaper alternative, an old 80-200 f2.8 D. Still lovely optics and built like a tank, just misses out on the AFS and VR of the newer equivalents.
