Nice shot!
Sony Rx10 I guess?
Yep, mk iii. Pretty impressive what it can do for that size of package but the amount of settings available does my head in! Sony Rx10 I guess?
Several Fieldfares in our Staffordshire garden at the moment; after all the snow. It's something of a luxury to be able to get shots like this just outside the back door!

Picked up a cheap second hand AFS 70-300VR as a lighter alternative to the AF 80-200 f2.8 for longer walks. Certainly not up with the 80-200 for focus speed (especially in shade & low constrast) and not as sharp etiher, but pretty respectable results for what it cost me and the extra reach is handy. On the D7000 it struggles to acquire focus fast enough for birds in flight (especially small fast ones), but generally accurate focus once acquired. I'll wait a bit longer and try it for motrosport as well before making a call on keeping it or not.

An opportunist shot from a walk at the weekend - saw it there and the next second it flew off... would you crop further or do anything different?
Nice shot If it was me I would crop a bit off the bottom and the right (so the bird is less central and more looking into the frame), also brighten the whole thing generally and lift the shadows a bit. Just my 2p worth.

If you have a RAW file try a bit of White Balance adjustment as a starting point.
In general it looks like it could have some decent potential for interesting tweaking.
Not something I normally have a go at but a few shots out the window

I have spent some years away from my old DSLR (getting married, two house moves and renovations, and other such excuses!) I am now on two weeks holiday before our first child arrives in August. I have unpacked the camera, and my old "how to" books and intend to take some time getting back into the camera, in a beautiful location. Hopefully I can come back with some good pictures.
In the meantime, I am not sure if I ever posted this, but this is a few years old, taken on the UK South Coast, with my Nikon D5100 and 300mm lens. The gull was nicely sidelit from above giving some interesting shade and light, the sea was an amazing colour, and people in the background gave the scene some interest I hope! Hope to contribute more in the future...
