The birds they mock me
Discussion
I'm not normally into wildlife photography, but I snapped this grumpy-looking thing a few years ago on a trip to Twycross Zoo with my son and grand-daughter

that's a great picture, I just can't seem to get birds in flight close enough to get good detail most of the time unless awfully lucky.
Here's a kestrel I did snap recently from not that far away (and somewhat unusually was a fair bit higher)
Nice shot of one of my favourite raptors! Here's a kestrel I did snap recently from not that far away (and somewhat unusually was a fair bit higher)

Thanks but I've got a long long way to go to get anything even close to the quality of some of your raptor pictures! You would love it in my garden! I've got a kestrel that's always around. Last spring I was sitting in the garden with my mum and it 'crash landed' into a border next to us, when it left I went to investigate and there was a fledgling thrush stuck in some undergrowth. I've seen it take a young great tit from my nut feeder and mice from the garden several times. I kind of feed the birds to feed the birds!
Here's a picture of a kestrel in the garden waiting for some dinner, not really bothered by me and my camera.

I'm going to with this being a Black Headed Gull, I am happy to be corrected though.

Does anyone have any tips/articles for rainforest photography? I spent 2 weeks having a blast but found it the most tricky photography situation I’ve ever encountered. How do you deal with the absurd contrast and back lighting? I tended to just expose for the animal I was shooting and ignore the background but I don’t really like the look of the blown out skies. Anyway to improve in post? Any tips would be ace not sure where to start!
My wife wants to print this one large and hang it so I’m very keen to get it looking as good as possible.
