Nice catch Nigel thumbup

May be a Goldfinch though?
You're absolutely right - I have no idea why I put Chaffinch! I put in on Instagram over the weekend as a Goldfinch, I blame being in lockdown frazzling my mind...!

Finally set up the small refection pool tray I bought about 3 years ago. Not too much going on at the moment but hopefully it will settle in (before I have to take it down) and I'll get some nice bird shots.

With the nice weather I've been trying to get more birds around the back garden, the front is packed and within a day of filling the bird feeder it's empty! However using the same feed in the back it doesn't seem to be as useful, the feeder is different I think it's one for balls.

We did try to put the fat balls in but again no birds took to it. Any tips?

From my back garden during lockdown - a bit soft - I think I need to get better at settings

If they have so much food at the front, they have no incentive to look elsewhere. Having said that, if you leave it long enough, they will find it!

I find it's all a bit random - I've had some Goldfinches in the garden a few times so put out a Nyger seed feeder for them, then didn't them again for 6 months! Now they're back but just pecking away on the ground quite happily.
As for balls, mine just get demolished by Corvids -

(apologies for low quality snap)
I think that one's a crow, but sometimes there are slightly different ones (light grey beaks) and I don't know how to tell them apart...
