Rather than start a new thread I thought I would ask here,

Does anyone know where to get a remote release for the A200?

I think even the Sony ones are about £20-30. If memory serve.

I just mentioned it because more than one photographer has spent all day taking photos only to not have any - there is usually a buffer memory that displays the last image, but that's it.
Yeah, me, when I was at Kemble testing a car I was competing the following weekend on the same day as Brawn GP were doing straight line tests on the main runway.

Want to know how many expletives I used when I got home and connected the camera up to the computer? hehe

took the camera out the back this afternoon to have a mess around. Still no screen but I don't think I really need it. it is easy enough just to take photos, take the CF out and drag the images across. Seems like I have a new camera for £6.99

Quick picture.

Sounds like a great result for £7.

You'll probably miss the screen when you want to be more creative with the various settings - just about everything is accessed via an on-screen menu.

For example:
  • aperture and shutter settings
  • single shot vs continuous vs timer
  • ISO settings
  • exposure tweaks
  • flash settings
  • autofocus mode
  • white balance
...to name but a few smile

When I know what the majority of those things are I probably will laugh I am happy using it as a point and shoot at the moment but over the summer I will look at getting a screen and trying to find out what all these complicated things are! The quality is really nice (compared to my old Compact) so it is ideal at the moment. I am sure it won't be too long until I get the bug and want to find out more!

A replacement screen is pretty cheap if you are handy with a soldering iron....

I think you'll find that is a focussing screen, which is the thing that you see when you look through the viewfinder.

It is not the rear lcd.

You can get one however, a bit more expensive than the above but still makes for a cheap camera.
