24/365 - Battle Scars - January 14th 2011 by Oliver Meads, on Flickr
I arrived at Silverstone this morning and noticed smoke coming from the bonnet.
On closer inspection the oil pressure sensor had failed allowing oil to drop onto the manifold and all over the engine and gearbox.
£6 and a trip to the motor factors later i had fixed it and cleaned, hence the battle scars.
Just got back from taking todays picture.
I was trying to get the lights of cars with a nice pub in the background.
I was happy shooting until somebody came out asking what i was doing. I explained that i was trying to get the light trails past the pub.
This was followed with.
Why? You should have asked me for permission first.
Right, he soon cleared off after i explained i was doing nothing wrong.
The thing is, ive been in the pub a few times and was going to ask if i could take a few interior shots as its a great looking place. I was even going to offer them for their use. But not now.
Just wanted to let it out and it has put a damper on the evening.
Anyhow. Sorting the pics now

Can we have a sticky please? Rather than having to dig it back up everyday.

Jealous of the Down Under trip, where are you going in Oz?
I spent ages trying to get a decent picture in Dubai transfer lounge for the 365 when I was stuck there. You seem to have found something photo-worthy

Brisvegas or commonly known as the town where most of the properties have been river front properties.
28/365 - Madness - January 28th 2011 by Oliver Meads, on Flickr
This is one of my best photos yet.
Spending 2 hours in -6 on the side of a hill to get . Got to the point when the cameras started freezing over.
The image is straight from the camera and has no changes.
The photo is a 30 minute exposure at F/5.6. Then a 40 minute wait to process the shot.
What's wrong with this picture..
That's right - it's a dry dock and it should be dry. It's not, during the floods recently in Brisbane, the water spilled over the dock doors at the end of the Navy ship and flooded the dock. Shocking to see that the Carpentaria Navigation boat keeled over in the dry dock when the water started to recede (I'm guessing) as it would have floated off it's base and then as it dried out it tipped over when it hit the bottom.
I've got some earlier pics of when it was on it's stand and I know it was getting the sides done with a fresh coat of paint.
It's amazing what bits of Brisbane are missing.
