Did you have the car MOT'd after CAT removal? I'm not thinking about the legality side, just wondered if there was any change in the emmissions.

Nick,

Another thread has just reminded me that pre '93 (ie pre cat) cars are exempt from the MOT emmission test.

Cheers,
JSG.

Thanks JSG. I was more concerned as to whether the cars performance would be effected. It's amazing at how many different replies I have received from different places. Main dealers say don't take the cats off because the ecu etc will need tweeking. Othes such as David Gerald say that removal of the cats does not effect any aspect of the car at all.
I am inclined to agree. Hey Ho

Picked the car up this morning. Hoorah. It does sound throaty. No more annoying rattles. Didn't get a chance to warm her up so couldn't put her through her paces. Will let you know how it goes.
The Mid Essex meets on the 1st Sunday of every month at Woodham Mortimer, near Chelmsford. email or call me and we can arrange a meeting/convoy.
