I had a brief think about the safety aspect of things before making this mod a year or so ago. Although I'm not an engineer I did realise that the whole B post set up was compromised - but I balanced this up against the fact that the inertia system was now allowed to function rather than my giving up and driving along with a loose and twisted seat belt that didn't retract.
On a pragmatic note I reckon I could drive off Beachy Head in my wife's uber Barge and being protected by an array of air bags etc I would suffer a bruised little toe or similar - whilst a side impact from a fully-laden supermarket trolley would be potentially fatal in the TVR.
It's like getting aboard your motorcycle - drive/ride defensively and hope for the best...

Mounted the mk2 Punto catch today (driver's side as the other side hasn't arrived).
Sits level with the top of the seat base. Seatbelt wraps around your waist more now - feels more like a modern car.
All said and done, I think they're worthwhile mods that don't decrease safety.

Good news there, pleased there is more choice for anyone else who is keen to improve comfort.

This version however looks far more "factory" and would possibly go un-noticed by all but the most fastidious assessor. All IMHO

How about black anodised (or equivalent https://youtu.be/iC7-FcRVXDY ) as that would blend in with the rest of the general blackness in that area and be less conspicuous for e.g. MoT testers

IMHO 30mm does seem to be a bit overkill, also Just for the material in stainless @ 30mm would be £10 each.
Depending on demand, (as even though they would be made manually, setup time and costs could be spread) in stainless they are going to be £50-£60 each. plus postage.
Just some added info, This design with the round end, is going to take 2-3 hours each to make, also it there would be a one off setup of about 2-4 hours, plus Stainless is very hard on tooling, so would have to use at least 1 carbide end mill and this are £50-100 each. plus would need use up at least 1 tap, so you can see how this makes a simple part expensive for a small number, The rose joints a much cheaper option as they will be stamped for hot metal in minutes. and then just have a finishing option on a dedicated machine, so they can make 100's in a day.

Here are the items you were referring to along with a better way of fitting the cooling pipes to the body. I made these for a V8S, but they are the same for all the other models.
