Johno,

Nice one mate, good to see you in the trophies. I feel the urge to track day getting stronger and stronger, I need to try an airfield day first I think (more space for ballet), and find a helmet big enough

Well done.

Any further suggestions much appreciated as I work towards my dream car

Like your spec, just a couple of comments. Think you would be better off look-wise going for the timeless class of one of the earlier models - maybe an M. Thinking about it, you would get similar classic good looks with better mechanicals if you move up to the more modern S. Have to be a V8, of course. And are you sure about that black and white colour combo? I think a more traditional colour might age better - maybe British Racing Green or one of the metalic variants?

Peter Humphries (and a green V8S)

Johno,

Good to hear that you had a good time at Zolder! So you've got the bug now have you? Ah well a sprint licence is only £25'ish', race suits from around £150'ish', helmets from £150'ish'!!!!!!!
Get yourself along to North Weald, Debden or even the Lotus test track at Hethel for a good ole sprint. Airfields are good starting points as there is usually nothing to hit if you overcook it! (And they are usually cheaper).
As you know TVRCC have a sprint championship or you could join one of the local motor clubs, i.e. Borough 19, who really are a bunch of pirates and a damn good hoot!!
Just a thought,

Jas.

Well I am good friends with Guy at Nitron and can now supply them (hence why I have a new set here).I know I am biased but a recent visit to Nitron left me totally amazed, you would never believe what goes into these shocks (injecting Nitrogen gas into cylinders for one!) and the quality of the machined components is first class (all CNC machined alloy etc, he had some stripped down shocks by other manufacturers one which used a plain washer on the piston, Nitrons had a specially machined part for eg).Glad I have some on my car

Yes you can have what you want as they are custom made (although the set I have here are to my spec and the only set I will be able to do a deal on!) there are a few options, not sure on the barrel length but I can find out for you, drop me an email direct and we can chat

Cheers

P.S I will be working with Nitron to produce a non adjustable version to compete in other markets!, although this will take a while

PetrolTed, you were right! Had the car at an acoustics place in Aldershot today, and at the relevant parameters we managed 99.9db (L not A). Bonzer

(Cost me £10 for 'chariddy', mate! Will post details of the place if others are interested....)

Off to Bassingbourne we go then. Cheers all.
