I thoroughly enjoyed myself... despite not having beastie ready for some track activity... Big thanks to Martin and Matthew, despite not being a great passenger, the Cerb was awesome, and my first ever ride in a Griff was.....
Chilli
I can't believe you went out for a few rides. How many times have I offered........................................is it me?Chilli
I am loving the data logging Nick, that is awesome. I may have to look into one of those. I would love to get some of that info overlaid on track footage
Nice pictures and video Top Gear TVR, the S sounds great!
I have not edited up Griff cam footage yet but I did knock a video of me rather embarrassingly overtaking a Genetta and also trying to get past John (Nick's Dad) in his Chim but going into the corner too fast and loosing it

Richard, I am not sure there would be much point buying a Griff when you have beasty... and with your epic engine I think you would feel a bit short changed with Griff 500. .... A cerb however my favourite TVR, just epic in every way. I just don't think I have the funds to keep one going. I must ask Martin for a ride in his 4.7, he went past me on the straight like I was standing still. If I could choose 3 TVRs I think I would have a Griff, Cerb and a T350.

Mazda MX5 Championship 2m 23s
So for a road car I think your time is pretty good
Given I was not racing and only pottering around Corum (the one corner I prefer to play it mega safe on) I am pretty happy as a comparison.Clio Cup 2m 7s

Chilli, I look forward to thrashing you once again next time with my MX5 speeds

I was hoping you'd be there.... plus I still owe you some money...
Ha ha Mat you old poser with the one handed save. Good vids from you and TGTVR, the S was really moving well.
It was a great day and good to see everyone, although lots of tracktime meant there wasn't too much time for chatting.
Special thanks to Chilli for going and getting a hose clamp for me. The cable ties held ok in the end but it was nice to know i had a spare at the ready. You are a gentleman sir.
I must have had a good time as I filled the chim 3 times!

I think if I had the garage space and the money it would be a Cerbera, my one, teamed up with a Grif and a T350c, however before that could happen I would need to sell the wife and kids into slavery and then a lottery win would speed things up a little.
All in all unlikely to happen but we can dream.

Finally managed to get some time to look at all the footage, I had hours of the stuff, I seemed to get a lot of track time on this track day.
The track was pretty quiet all afternoon and my neatest lap was with a passenger, I think it might be Chilli's grand daughter, quite difficult to tell from the rear mounted cam.

That figures - a lighter (8-10 stone) adult passenger balances the car perfectly if you haven't had it corner weighted......I realised this at the 2013 TVRCC track day - had a passenger, mainly my wife, all day, and the car felt really balanced. I had it corner weighted shortly after that and have had far fewer spins whilst cornering considerably quicker. The track was pretty quiet all afternoon and my neatest lap was with a passenger, I think it might be Chilli's grand daughter, quite difficult to tell from the rear mounted cam.

How did you manage to find so much space, I seemed to come up behind big groups of cars all the time. The track was pretty quiet all afternoon and my neatest lap was with a passenger, I think it might be Chilli's grand daughter, quite difficult to tell from the rear mounted cam.

Having said that I did get a great run with that black 911 turbo, that was fun;-)

That does make sense as reviewing the footage, most of my laps with a passenger are much tidier. I may look at getting a proper setup and corner weight. Hopefully should make a bit of a difference even on standard suspension.gruffalo said:

I was quite surprised, in the afternoon the track was really clear... either that or I was not going fast enough to catch anything up I did encounter the black 911 turbo, I let him past and managed to keep up with it down the straight but the first corner i came to he disappeared. I gained on him down the straights and just about had the better of him through the corners but his 4WD meant he could get on the power much earlier than I could which he kept opening the gap on me again.I had a chat with him afterwards, he did mention he had nothing left to give and had never pushed the car so hard;-)
