Recently there have been a couple of TVR S3Cs (built in 1990) for sale in Sweden. In the ads the owners have pointed out that that only 10 cars of this model exists. There must be more S3Cs than that, am I right? Could it be that those cars are some kind of anniversary model? Does anyone know?

The cars I have seen are black with dark red leather interior. They also have a sort of luggage rack (or whatever you call it :-)) on top of the trunk lid. I hope that someone knows more about these cars.

Wonder if it's related to this one. We had much debate but didn't get very far identifying it's origins.

I've read most of the literature available on TVR S' but not heard of a black aniversary model. Could it be a 'dealer special' limited edition ?

JSG, I'm not sure if I can tell you anything you don't already know, but according to the license plate it was registered in the german town of Wuppertal.

Interesting conversion. What did you manage to find out about it so far?

Andy,

There's a thread here somewhere on the 'alien S' which discussed this in some depth - the owner had posted looking for info on the rear lights etc.

The boot rack on this thread made me wonder if there was any link between the two.

Cheers,
JSG.

Those tail lights look like either 1970's Corvette, or Dodge Charger.

The boot rack on the picture looks like what I have seen on the S3Cs for sale in Sweden. But they don't have the round rear lights. I'll try to find a picture somewhere.

Well now I have bought one of the cars I was interested in. So far I know that it is car number 4 out of 10 in a series with this look. If anyone has some more information I would like to know.
It feels great to be a TVR owner at last!

Perhaps they meant 10 LHD or 10 in Sweden. I'm not aware of any anniversary models. It's not something TVR have often done.

Yes, you are probably right.
I know that two more S3Cs in this series (apart from my car) are based in Sweden now. The rest of them may be here in Sweden or elsewhere in Europe I suppose.

Johan,
Nice looking car. How do you find the crisp handling in the snow?

Do you need the luggage rack because the boot is full of sandbags to get some traction in all this snow??
Congrats on the new car, it looks very nice!

Well, how shall I put it? It is NOT a good season for driving TVRs in Sweden right now. I hardly managed to get the car out of the garage (due to low traction), and then I almost froze my fingers off while taking the pictures. It was 20 below zero that day *brrrr*
I'm really looking forward to some spring weather. But that won't come until sometime late in March or in April *sigh*
Hmm, sandbags... might be a good idea...
