Just a simple query...where's the best place to do a bit of reading up on the s-series? Is there a dedicated website?

Hope you can help

The dedicated website is this one!!
There are links to lots of 'S' series information.
Get yourself a copy of the Steve Heath manual aka The Bible, (If I didn't mention it he would fairly quickly anyway).
Keep your eyes peeled and don't buy the first car you see. There are a lot of rough cars out there, which on the surface look okay.
Maintenance history is important even if a local garage has done it. Lots of people will tell you full TVR service history is important which I personally disagree with, especially after experiencing some dealers, I wouldn't trust them with a push bike! As the cars are getting on a bit, a lot of us do our own maintenance or know a trustworthy mechanic anyway, and after all there is nothing magical about the 'S' series in terms of maintenance.
For more information, talk to owners. Trackdays and sprints are a good source of information as the cars are usually owned by mechanically minded people who have seen many of the problems already.

There is a link from the main PistonHeads page to the S series which contains some good stuff.

You will also benefit from looking back through the S forum threads and try and get along to a club meeting - let me know where you live / work and I'll dig out the details.

Finally buy Steve Heaths S Bible, its excellent value and gives buying advice as well info on just about everything - version 2 is even more comprehensive than version 1 (I have both).

Good Luck,
JSG.

Simon, You've already come to the right place

When you do find the right car, make sure you join the TVR car club, you'll get better insurance deals from the main TVR insurers.

Cheers,

Dave.

Where can I find a copy of Steve Heath's book? I've tried amazon but they only have the griffith and wedge copy. Any ideas?

Simon,

You should find it here www.tvrbooks.co.uk/
All the best the 'S' is a wonderful car and take note of what people say on here as there is a wealth of experience and u will find everyone very helpfull so feel free to ask about anything even things that u might feel silly asking as theyve all been asked before and surely will be asked again.
