Help!! 2.9 Injection problem
Discussion
Hi All,
Finally got to start the car after a 6 month rebuild but I anm having a problem with the injection.
The car will start but only tick over at about 1200 RPM. If I press the throttle the engine just dies as it appears to not be getting any more fuel.
I have disconnected the TPS the pressure sensor and the ecu temp sensor and it made no difference.
I have put a meter acress the TPS and the resistance changes as I rotate the pot.
Before I pulled the car apart I had the engine running but it ran very rich.
I have tried substituting the air flow meters but that made no difference.
Any Ideas??
Going on holiday Weds and its going to bug me if I don't find the problem!!
Cheers,
Bill

Bill,
Is it difficult to start initially and then if you leave it running at idle until warm before gently pressing the loud peddle, does it then stall? If it does, it sounds as if one or both of the temp sensors might be disconnected/duff/wire loom break. (See "Temperature Sensor Location" by Lewis's Friend). The air intake temp and engine temp are not as critical once the engine is warm but it will still not run smoothly

Sounds similar to the "issues" with the Silver S3c I bought a little while back and lent to Terry. He sorted it, was something to do with the various breather pipes... not sure he knows exactly what he did but think he pulled everything off and replaced as per his S3c that was having an extensive renovation and it worked!
Or could be the big pipes from AFM's to throttle body leaking
