6 pots in 9 months - all free to me but Ford must be miffed.
Despite changing again last week, still have very flat spot very early in throttle travel. More noticeable when cold but still there when hot. Accelerate from quarter or more throttle and is as smooth as owt. The problem shows itself in any gear and means that changing up, I have to 'feather' the clutch and slowly feed in the first movement of throttle. Not the way to impress Derbyshire grandma's.

Anyone out there had this? New plugs, leads (Ford)etc within last month.

Cheers
Sam

Yes, we all have had this problem.
Change to the Speed 6 TP and buy the new loom connector as well. They seem to work much better.

Yep, had this one........

New throttle pot with gold loom connections, new HT leads, NGK plugs, dizzy cap, rotor arm, cleaned the idle speed air control valve + reassembled carefully with new gasket, ECU diagnostic check, and you guessed it...........naff all difference.

All the specialists just end up saying, " They all do that a little bit, sir" but I have seen S3C's running really smooth....much more so than mine

My snag is that the idle is slightly grumpy, the engine shakes just a bit, and, like yours, smooth acceleration causes no problems, but a quick blip of the throttle causes a kick, or a slight cough before the engine revs up.

I'm just living with it for now......'cos I have just about run out of ideas. Rev through it........it'll be alright

Good luck mate, chin up.

ps. Just to let you know I'm not boozed yet....it's only 18:15 here in Texas!!!!! 95 degrees in the shade and no Trevors though.................happy motoring y'all
