Crash today - looks like a write off!!!
Discussion
Getting my favourite mug from the dishwasher this morning resulted in this calamity. All down to driver error.
In anticipation of the agreed value payment from my insurance company I will be looking for a suitable replacement. I do not know if there were any models still available from SCH 2015. Please advise if you know of their whereabouts. If so, I am definitely in the market. I will have salvage rights on the existing model but I haven't a handle on what to do with it.
These mugs are brilliant. Earlier models faded within 12 months but this one was still as good as new.
Sir Anthony de Bourne, you really made my heart sink when I read that title.
You utter utter bd!
Don't ever do that to me again!
I think you should buy a matched pair of these rare collector's pieces while they are still available. Just insurance for the future. And you need to sack your dishwasher on the grounds of gross negligence. Incompetent oafs have no place in the household of an estate such as yours sir! And in future keep the staff away from your precious things. ( Well, except for your favourite scullery maid, obviously )

A scary topic title only!
At least nobody was hurt in the accident
Your 2015 Tour shirt arrived with Niiige this morning. Please be careful with it and try not to break it. They are much rarer than the mugs so a replacement will be a lot harder to find

sounds like a tvr breaker from up north will have this on ebay "just needing paint" very shortly ;-)
Thank you for the sympathetic (?) replies.
Alan, I will take Glens' advice and would like two mugs if you have them.
Now, a quandary: are they now rare collectors items and command a premium, or obsolete stock which has been written down in the books?
Only joking as I am happy to make the usual donation.
Andy, I would place the mug in the garden with a one of my plants but I am worried about the gnomes getting high on the leaves....
Ian. I suppose the nightmare scenario is that I spill boiling hot coffee from one of my new mugs onto the precious shirt and drop the rare china. The scalding liquid could also spoil my youthful good looks.
Glen. The dishwasher was suitably apologetic and she was chastised accordingly.
December 5th with anticipation!
Cheers
Tony

All those expecting a 'real' crash write-off here are some pictures of my first ever TVR S3.
It's May 1998 and aged just 28 and inexperienced with rear wheel drive 'beasts' I spun it on a wet windy country road and flipped it clean over a 7ft high hedge, landing on my wheels the other side the hedge! You can see the bent under wheel where I made initial contact with the bank in the spin. The car was written off and a few weeks later in June 1998 I bought a replacement S3 with the insurance pay-out which I still have to this day.
