Since seeing Andy's immaculate V8S engine bay at the NEC classic car show ive been on a mission to tidy my S1's up!
Love abit of detailing biggrin so heres a before & after (im not finished yet but its getting there.) Feel free to post up your own engine bay im intrigued to see how people have got theres & can get a few ideas of course

Things to do:
-Move ignition coil away from plenum
-Fit the new chrome rocker covers
-ponder over stainless steel swirl pot & water pipes eek
-changeover any perished rubber pipes
-upgrade few different bolts to stainless steel

Could anyone tell me what size the engine block bolts are please? i saw one with stainless cap head bolts & it looked alot neater (i have them already for the rocker covers)

oh now thats what you call an engine bay! shiny bolts cool very neat. The engine block looks awesome in blue i wanted to get mine in a chrome looking finish, was it a heat resistant powder coat? btw where did you get the 'TVR badge' for the engine block?

mine is quite tidy, i have just shifted my coil off the plenum too, used one of the bolts that holds the pedal box to secure the original clamp, dead easy, didn't have to make any new holes, and also just got rid of the big rubber breather pipe than went from the oil cap all the way to the air filter and replaced it with a neat little ram air filter, next want to get a smaller battery and relocate that and start drilling holes in all those steel brackets!!! the original manifolds let it down a bit, stainless would be nice but will probably just paint them when i have time until they completely rot away! the ht leads are pretty old looking, say ford on them so could well be the original ones, may swap them for some nice new red magnecore ones, an alloy swirl pot would be nice and save a bit of weight too as well as being rust proof. unfortunately i can't upload pictures to show you as the file sizes are way too big

Try 'freepicresize' i use it alot when my file size is too big to upload on here. Oh I'll move my ignition coil there too then, sounds easy enough. Find the magnecors abit pricey i got my blue ht leads from 'burton power' for around £40. Was looking at the stainless manifolds & swirl pot on act, maybe next year laugh

blimey is that a 'before' barry? looks pretty tidy, nice bit of silicon work too, have you made any further changes to it?
@drak ula noticed you got rid of the air ducting, actually looks alot neater without them, i see what you mean about the manifolds mine are looking abit unsightly too but £423 exc vat & delivery for some stainless steel ones eek P.S go with the red ht leads

Now that's a fine example of British engine porn right there laugh very tidy, the more I see these stainless swirlpots the more I think I should of got one when I done coolant change

guinness gives me more powerful wings but doesn't fit the coil so well ;-)
as an aside, can't help going of brand here so should probably put it on a different forum, but if you guys like a nice engine bay, i think this one of mine is a beauty, think you will like it even if not an S! i put a lot of work into this baby and it goes even better than it looks! look at where speedo needle is on last pic.... way off the clock and half way through them temp gauge... was still accelerating hard at that point but was catching up on slower moving traffic so had to slow down, it had plenty more to go!!!!
