ChimpOnGas loves his ... I'm sure he'll be along shortly to fill you in.

Alternatively a quick search on here for "Battery Brain" ( http://www.pistonheads.com/search?SearchText=Batte... ) finds you a number of posts by him and others...

Mine is in and being fitted.
I had one fitted on my last tuscan and was very pleased with it.
I leave my cars for weeks on end in airports. From years back with my Tasmin, Chimaera's and first Tuscan, I nearly always returned to flat batteries.
I tried solar chargers and all sorts but nothing helped.
The airport carport service people got very unhappy with me requesting jump start every few weeks.

Battery brain put an end to that.
I was a very happy boy. smile

Had it for 5 years on my chimaera that is often left 4 – 8 weeks at the time without starting (but garaged, with no power in the garage).
The longest she stayed without drawings in the last 5 years was 10 weeks and she has started each time and every time in the past 5 years…

So battery brain is defo worth it, it’s actually the best £50 I have spent on my TVR.

Tempted by one of these myself but probably won't bother with the gold edition with the remotes, I would only want to have the piece of mind of not running the battery flat.

you need the remote version or its difficult to get in if the power is switched off

I bought one of these a few months ago but haven't fitted it yet, mainly because I'm not sure where to connect the 'engine on wire'. I was going to just connect this to an ignition live, but then realised if I left the ignition on (which I have done before after working on the car in the garage) then it wouldn't work as the battery brain would be overridden. Is there an other option which would only override the battery brain when the engine is running?

Output from the fuel pump relay would only be live...A when the ECU primes the pump and ...B When the engine is running.

When the engine stops the ECU turns the pump off for safety.
