Ignition module access

" Can you confirm if you have to remove the distributor to access the ignition module?"
short answer is probably yes Access at best is very tight, depending upon exact position of distributor, condition of engine mountings etc.
Held on by two screws with M6 heads, recessed in two very slim holes, I had to grind down a 1/4" drive socket to go in.
An option, rather than remove the dizzy, might be to carefully mark its position slacken clamp bolt and rotate it to get slightly better access to the little bolts?
Between the module and the dizzy body there should be a heat conductive paste, about the consistency of Vaseline, on mine it had dried out with age to something more like talcum powder!
