Just thought id post this up as another option which actually worked out ALOT cheaper than letting 'Leven Technology' refurb them (£62.34 each minus shipping) or buying new badges from 'Racetech' (£77.34 delivered each!)..

So i had a look online & of course birmingham once again has these little gems of places hidden away that work wonders, £20 per badge at 'chromefix' top job!

Before..

After..

Hi Steve, good chroming firms are getting scarce because of H&S regs. Good link though, I looked at their site and they also have a place at Bolton Lancashire which is pretty close for me so I will be visiting with a few bits off other projects.
You going to bring the mean green machine to Barn Farm this year?
(Dont follow me on the drive though...can be bad for you!!)

Isn't the badge made of the same crap as the filler cap? If so, could your plating shop manage to re-plate a filler cap?

I have an old badge somewhere that looks more like brass where the plating has worn through?

These boys had sandals on laugh ! Yes I did put my name down before the list filled up but it didn't get copied over, will have a drive up with mike on the sat most likely.

Didn't get anything else done mike, was thinking about a few brackets around the engine bay, few metal bits off the sides of the plenum, bonnet/boot pin things etc.. Next time the S goes in for mot I'll get them lil finishing touches done wink

Regarding the badge, mine had started showing a brown colour underneath the chrome (on the 1st pic up close) so presume there brass?

Steve, you should've made a bit more fuss if somebody wiped your name of the list.
It's not too late if you want to camp, but I just can't fit anyone else in for food at the Red Lion on Saturday evening. frown Unless you're happy with a beer supper! beerbeer

However, I do have a tube of pringles and a sour cream dip. yum

Sorry to see that your cat/ skunk/ badger got squashed.... weeping

For the record, I know that the Leven badge refurb is expensive, but I believe that as well as rechroming the badge to a high standard, the bas-relief parts of the badge are black lacquered, then the whole thing is resin coated for a beautiful durable finish better than new.

You get what you pay for.

And no animals are flattened during the process.... wink

But I suspect greymrj and the attractive Debs could give you a run for your money!
