No he most definitely wouldn't! 
As a footnote, when I worked on the railway at Manchester Traincare Centre, the couplers on the Type 323 EMU three-car sets were fastened with four bolts per coupler, torqued to 1750 Nm, which entailed using a big torque wrench, a four-foot scaffold tube and two beefy blokes giving a fair amount of wellie. It was a good workout
