Looks like the ideal thing for the Goth Run to Whitby in October, Joe. wink
I wonder, whose are those bloomers on the passenger seat?
Pity the steering column cowling is missing, that devalues the car quite a lot. frown

Would be better if it had a bit of original patina though, like this sort of thing:

It's in this ( not a ) Cortina:
Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/152647900884

The good old Ford Consul Lowline was thirsty, but quite economical and very entertaining when parked up somewhere nice and secluded. wink

Sorry Glen, going to have to drive with a bag over my head for while. The new S owner passed his "S owner interview" last night and was subsequently allowed to drive it away, under supervision initially. It's now gone to live in Lincoln. Sorry to see it go but needed something more suited to comfortable long distance touring.
3.0 straight six with Lots of new stuff to go wrong now, ABS, DSC, DTC, no idea what it all means!

HI Glen - I am that new owner....! Looks as if I now have access to the Forum, so I can start to get involved. Lots to learn but Rob was good enough to hand over a large file full of 'provenance' so my S3 induction is well underway.

Hello Chris wavey and welcome to the best forum. thumbup

Obviously you are a man of impeccable taste, so may I commend you on your successful application to become the new owner? ( We all have to undergo the selection procedure. )
Your S is a sound example, well known to us in the S Club. Rob has been a worthy custodian and has incorporated some good mods during his stewardship.

Your next step is to get your details onto the S3 Owners' List on here. ( No. 86 )
Just substitute your particulars ( Oooh-err missus! ) for Rob's. If you need any help with this, just ask.
In fact if you need help or advice with anything on your S, just ask on here. We are a friendly bunch.
This forum is full of information and it's worthwhile perusing "Useful Links" and "FAQs" and so on.

We have lots of events and trips etc to join in, so hope to see you around soon.
Get your top off and enjoy your S! driving

Thanks for the welcome - I've updated the owners list (#86) and added a marker on the map. Rob took care of this car and it's for driving, not (only) polishing. Oil and filter changed (my standard practice), roof off and neighbours dismayed. Here's to an Indian Summer.....

Welcome aboard Chris wavey
This is a great forum but like anywhere you do find some weirdos occasionally. I've been driving all over Europe with some of them since 2010 and despite my best efforts I can't seem to shake 'em off hehe

Chris. Welcome but do it worry. Most of us are quite normal.

Ah, maybe, my dear Antoine, but surely that all depends on what you mean by "normal"? wobble
Your dear Grandpėre will be turning in his grave to hear you talking of such nonsensical abstractions. He was, just like your good self, far beyond the norm. It's all about living life on the edge. And if you're not living life on the edge, you're taking up far too much space!

Now then, let's go and find where Matron has hidden the Absinthe, eh old boy? wink

Normal "conforming to the standard or the common type; usual; not abnormal; regular; natural."
Nah, nobody like that on here! rofl
