Following on from this old thread ......

https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

I can get these made for £30 per pair ( + P&P ) based on an order for 5 pairs. The price will go down, as the quantity goes up.
The supplier tells me that the major part of the cost is the 7/16" UNF thread cutting tool, which he has to buy.

Is anyone interested ?????? sonar

Why not revert to a metric thread? Would cheapen thing up, even if you supply a new 10.9 / 12.9 bolt to go with it.

Why not just use a rose joint.

Available from HERE.

This mod has been on my 'S' since 2012 with no queries from any MOT station.

Probably C45 steel and Zn plating may be possible.

Good idea - I'll ask for a new price with an M14 x 1.5mm thread.

Good suggestion - will consider this also.

M14? 7/16 is near as damn it 11mm, not a common size. or are you measuring the hole in the seat belt bracket and not the reducing bush?

this is an end but bracket for the top mount is the same principle

Unless you can get a siezed ball joint won't it flop around, partially defeating the object?

While I appreciate you have had no "issues" at MOT time should the worst happen the rose joint will look like an improvisation to an insurance assesor, the machined brackets look like they are original (imho)

Just to be on the safe side then why not have them stamped with a TVR part No. ? How about...

Sorry, my mistake, I calculated with 9/16".

So it'll be a M12 x 1.5mm.
Although, these are also not cheap at almost 4 quid each.

I'm up for a pair. How soon will they be available? I haven't looked at the seat belt fitting but presumably they are straight forward.

Be patient guys. Next week, I will have some info on the M12 x 1.5mm version.
As soon as I know more, I'll update the post.

I'd try an M12 bolt in the mounting bush (see my previous picture) before you go too far ............... whistle

Or just use an M12 to mount the seatbelt clamp and get a longer imperial bolt to mount into the 'body'.
