Last little job...........
Discussion
The inter web wires are glowing red with requests for the next installment so here we go....................
Step 2:
3 pieces of 8mm perspex rod cut to 6mm lengths was "superglued" to the discs.
Discs then stuck to the lamp glass with little sticky pads, hopefully they are waterproof?
Time will tell how well they stand up to anything and everything that gets thrown at them but so far so good, still on after 1500 miles around Scotland!

I ordered a selection of discs to experiment with. This effort uses little suction pads to hold the disc in place rather than Phillpot's clever little perspex rods...
Not as neat as the little perspex rods but quick and simple to remove. The question is, will it stay on? The disc is currently stuck to the back window of my daily driver. If it is still there when I get home this evening we'll know the answer.
I noticed that the supplier did discs with a light grey tint. I'm thinking these might look good on mine, We'll see once I've sorted out the fixing method. NB I needed 150mm discs for the Lucas spots on mine.

I had some 5mm thick adhesive backed plastic sheet that is slightly flexible which did a similar job. It used to be sold under the LiteSkinz brand although I couldn't see that thickness when I looked for some more. I used the same thing on the headlamps - quite tricky getting it to follow the curve of the glass, but it did eventually. Much easier to apply to the flat driving lamps. I think the advantage is that there's no gap behind it for muck to collect - it is stuck directly to the glass. Worked really well when I dragged them fifty yards through a gravel trap filled with rocks the size of your fist. One lamp broke but the plastic film held the glass in place for another six months while I got round to replacing it - the other side was intact. Wish I could say the same about the paintwork.
As the Four Tops said, "l'll be there!"
And the Saturday run out.

DD.... Dreaded Diseasel?
I do hope there will be good turnout for Wentworth this coming weekend.
For some reason it doesn't appear to have the same cachet with the TVR crowd as Chatsworth,
but it is a worthy replacement venue, centrally located with easy access from all over, and not as restrictive as Chatsworth with their arrangements.
Plus it is somewhere different for a change. Perhaps there are too many died-in-the-wool TVR owners who are resistant to any change? I say "Try it, you might enjoy somewhere different!"
I do hope that in future it will grow into one of the "Must Do" events of the TVRCC calendar.
To compound matters, there are so many clashing events this coming weekend that spread the numbers of TVRs thinner on the ground, which is a shame, but you can't do 'em all!
Hope to see a lot of S Clubbers there on either Sat or Sun. Or both!

Slightly bigger suction cups seems to be the answer. I'll know if the test one is still attached to the spot when I get home on Sunday afternoon.
It was, plus moving the suckers 5mm inwards so that all 4 adhere firmly to the glass lens. These discs are 140mm dia. If this trial set works I've also got a pair of grey smoked discs at 150mm dia. which I think will look better.
