Why doesn’t the tacho on some “S”s return to zero ? When I turn off the ignition on mine it shows 1,000 rpm, then if I turn it on then off again it zero’s. I see even the £15K one currently at Mole Valley is showing 1,500rpm with the only other gauge active being the Voltmeter showing 13v.confused

Mine does the same. Mine does return to zero once I have disarmed the immobiliser though.

Mine does the same. I asked about it on the S Series Facebook group and no one seemed to have a definite answer. The consensus was that they all do it, although there were a few who had never had the issue. Mine will eventually creep to about 3,000 RPM even when totally disconnected.

Mine does it too. I think that they all do. One day I'll get round to taking it apart... Until then. smile

Mine also freezes when it is powered off. It behaves as if the needle is being driven positively in both directions, perhaps by a stepper motor or something like that.
