Trying to resolve cooling system issues on the 3000m race car.

The diagram is from the M-Fix website, some of the flow directions dont look right to me?
If the water is flowing from the rad bottom hose into the water pump bottom inlet then it must be flowing out of the other two outlets from the pump?

The diagram seems to suggest its flowing into the LHS outlet?

Yes Eric,
i think you are right that the flow arrows are in the wrong direction.
The left hand side (back of pump) should be out to flow to the Heater then out of Heater to Carb for auto Choke. Then Carb to just under Thermostat Housing.

I would think in place of the Heater you just have a loop if you are racing the 3000M

The flow diagram for the Essex V6 concurs with the M- fix diagram.

So maybe the flow from the bottom of the thermostat housing, round the auto-choke, then back into the pump only happens when the thermostat is closed, when its open the predominant flow is round the radiator?

Ric Wood does an up graded water pump for the Essex and ‘water wetter’ works .

Presume you're using a pressurised expansion tank, if this is the case, a bleed from the top of the rad back to that tanks helps.

For me the bleed from top of Rad goes to Swirlpot, also the Cap on the Swirlpot is just a blank Cap and not a Rad Cap.
Expansion Tank with Rad Cap.

There should be 2 small bleed/purge hoses at the top of Swirlpot. 1 to top of Rad and 1 to bottom of Expansion Tank.

Half fill Expansion Tank and it will automaticaly bleed the System

Hi Eric,
have you drilled a small hole in the Thermostat so the air will bleed out the Circuit and there is not an Airlock.

That way there is no air Bubble around the Thermostat and it will open correctly.

Thermostats often have that hole and a "jiggle pin" to stop it clogging up
