Somebody very brave has bought it.
I rang up to buy this, I missed out on it by 20 minutes, would have been a perfect winter project for me.

Nevermind, I'm visiting Amore Autos to have a look around, see what other projects they have
Look back a few posts and have a look at the one at Mathewsons Auctions, Thornton Dale, Pickering due for sale on the 27th. Needs work, might be up your street.

My S1.5 has just failed it's MOT and is in a similar sort of condition. I'll be putting her up for similar money in the next few days once I get her back from the garage.

PROJECT S1.5 2.9 engine Potters Bar

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/323523927788?ul_noapp=t...

looks like honest advert indicates chassis is not good. At 3 bids £1650 when I saw it. Nice to know one in this state is now worth* buying. *Worth as in value judgement not economics!

In November's Sprint: a grand, for a project S2 in the ads. It's near Blandford Forum, and I'll be there in the next week or so if anybody wants me to take a look. It should be gone before that, though. But: chassis, chassis, chassis...……….

And the Aluminium S3 in the pictures in the report on Sherborne Castle is mine!! The pic doesn't show how scruffy it is, so it's very fair of them to include it with all the posh stuff. And the stand (and the show too) was terrific: thanks Ray, Chris and Trudi!

Gentlemen,

I am once again looking for an S series car - my fourth.

I've tried Lotus, Cateham and Ginetta since my last S but I am back - it's that exhaust note ....
Anything out there - even a sensibly priced V8S would be interesting.

Thanks,
Martin.

Not sure if this one has been mentioned before but mole valley seem to be trying to push the prices up. Closer to V8S money this one, can only be a good thing and should be a good car too.

Don't think we have seen this one before. It is in Heathfield, which isnt very helpful as there are more than one. The photos however reference Crowborough so it is the East Sussex one. The advert is a model of brevity!!! Search shows it is a late 88 F reg car so S1 2.8. Reg F879PBJ . Looks superficially nice and has had roof and paint but no engine or chassis photos. Did notice photos are NOT current though.

"The chap I bought the car off had Hammerited the chassis and being honest hadn't made a very good job of it. Some of the paint has come off and surface rust is starting to appear, nothing too major it just needs wire brushing and cleaning off, treating with Jenolite rust preventer and painting again"

i´m always wondering how sellers exactly know to do things, but dont do them.

if its "so easy" --> do it mr. seller!!!! otherwise this car can be considered as "in necessity of bpdy-off"

Anyone familiar with this one?
Tempted to view to put a offer in as looks good, but maybe too good? Chassis looks freshly painted and MOT history could almost be too good to be true.
Or maybe it’s a really good one!

Only one way to find out!

looks quite tidy under the bonnet, wheels have had a "quicky" powdercoat job, not proper diamond cut 'n polish and chassis paint does look a bit fresh? Interesting to see if paint has been slapped all over bolts, bushes etc. or done at least half properly?

......... and what brand are those tyres?

chassis looks like freshly waxoyled, exhaust looks like painted silver, cheapish tyres, quick powdercoat of wheels.

even the car looks generally tidy i would say lots of things had been done just for "blinding" potential buyers, distracting them from the real condition.
