Chassis looks a bit rough and as for the fake roll hoop - but what's interesting here is the bonnet has faired in fog lamps which I didn't think were right for the S1.

That can’t be the original bonnet judging by the gap to the door if fogs where even an option on the S1 like you say. Be a shame to lose an early S1 to TVR heaven, but definitely a project to get back on the road or track even. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TVR-S1-Classic-Car-Barn...

And another refurbished chassis and upgrades: https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1248213
Good price for a car that appears to have been done spot on.
yep...all the other listed above could use this car as an example in terms of price and quality.Good price for a car that appears to have been done spot on.
this said: if you want a TVR (no matter what model it is), you may also get a chimaera (obviously not in that condition...but in a decent condition as well...) or a perfect V8-Wedge for that price. And with both, you are definately into the V8-League.
thats the general Stigma of the S-Series...most are V6....

Not a stigma at all ! Much nicer clutch and gearchange, and they don't have that big silly hump in the bonnet which was completely pointless on all but a couple of supercharged Italian cars.

But sadly they will never sound like a V8
Sounds good to me. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=IZFHFVzmhTs
I've owned many incarnations of tvrs including s2 and v8s and for me that 2.9 cologne engine is a brilliant sounding thing and will keep a 400 v8 honest all day long having driven a few back to back, I still check the classifieds for the v6 s as it's probably my favourite for value for money.

Maybe the one made just before mine - I bought G548 NGP a few years ago. Also a project at the mo', I got a little bit further than this one and really really plan to finish it soon !

even the V6 is fitted in a TVR (Wedge, S etc) with a different exhaust etc, it still sounds as a ford cortina / granada is comming around the corner...thats the stigma.
.. V8 is V8...in any car....
My V6 sounds great in the 2-3.5k rev range, but sounds awesome in the 5 to 7k range. .. V8 is V8...in any car....
