Described in their blurb as being in "fantastic" condition. They must mean the alternative dictionary definition, "imaginative or fanciful; remote from reality".
Is it your aim in life to constantly criticize every S that comes up for sale? Personally i think that one does look fantastic.Remember that every S that comes up for sale has been loved by the previous owners and will be loved by its current and subsequent owners no matter what the condition they are in. I don't think any forum dedicated to enjoying these cars should be used to nitpick and pass personal judgement on cars for sale, but to encourage new owners with helpful advice and constructive comments to help buy and enjoy these great cars.
Isn't that the idea of these "another TVR for sale" forums?
Someone posts up the latest ad they've found then everyone piles in "nit picking", fault finding and generally ripping the car to pieces
So here's my two'penneth worth...... there are two arty farty close up photo's, the badge on the rear and a door handle, both accentuate issues with the paintwork.
But hey, it's nearly 30 years old and at that price you can't expect perfection

Mike, you are clearly one of the S forums' guru's, so many members hang on your opinion.Someone posts up the latest ad they've found then everyone piles in "nit picking", fault finding and generally ripping the car to pieces

I think that S is worth whatever the bidder considers a car that is/was part of (famous person/well known collector of classic cars) is prepared to pay!
Do you disagree?

With the guru bit?Yes a car is "worth" whatever someone is prepared to pay and I'd imagine Coy's are no idiots when it comes to valuing cars but even with good provenance something like double the "going price" of a good S3 does seem like a slightly ambitious estimate?
But of course it is only an estimate, wonder what the reserve was?
Enough serious stuff, any one want a well used S3 with excellent provenance ( ) for 18 grand?

... and worth every penny!
ps. you forgot to add ''Part of the Phillpot Classic Collection''!!!
As long as both front indicator lenses are original and in perfect condition.
Who knows what these S's will be worth back in the future?
On the subject of S3's, blue one in Prescot. Chassis outriggers indicated as done, but always check of course. Price is just a teeny weeny bit lower!
The advert pictures do look very promising indeed and appears well looked after.
Prescot is N Merseyside. Within my range if it needs viewing.

I had a quick inspection of this S3 last Tuesday at our local TVRCC meet, and I was quite impressed. The advert pictures do look very promising indeed and appears well looked after.

The outriggers were recently done by a respected local TVR guy, and the car has obviously been well looked after.
Body work and interior are very good, and mechanically it seems sound with no engine knocks or rattles. Fluctuating oil pressure would suggest a replacement oil pressure sender is required. The vendor said he will address that issue and fit a new one.
The car has the Chimaera alloy roof struts, brand new hood & rear window, recovered targa panels.
The only faults I could find were minor:
Slight blooming of the windscreen bottom LH corner.
Slight corrosion of the alloys which would ideally require the lacquer stripping to give them a good polish. The rims are free from kerb damage.
Nearside front indicator lens chipped.
Slight surface rust patches on the rocker covers.
I did not drive it or have a thorough look at everything, but I think it's a serious contender for somebody who is looking for a good honest S3.
I know that the vendor is very reluctant to be selling it, but he doesn't want to be leaving it parked outside.
He has other TVR projects currently taking priority of his time as well space, so he would like to see it go to a good home.
And finally, I'm sure you'll all agree that this S3 is the best colour combo!

Red S2 project in Cheshire. £3950 or offers. Been off the road 7 years but appears to have had work done before that. Hope it gets saved and a new member of PH joins us!
