Red S2 project in Cheshire. £3950 or offers. Been off the road 7 years but appears to have had work done before that. Hope it gets saved and a new member of PH joins us!

This is the same one that you linked to on the first page of this thread, Richard.
It was on ebay ( Glossop area ) for £3995. ( unsold )
Photos can still be viewed on there.
He/she ( M3gal ) must be keen to sell, having dropped the price by £45 smile
The mobile number is different though.
Looks like the n/s/r rubber bumper has fallen off.

At the risk of being shot down in flames for being even slightly critical... I note in that ad that "windscreen cracked (£230 fitted)", so can anyone please tell me how much they paid (recently) for a new screen, as mine needs replacing and I seem to think it may cost me more than that.....

Hi, it's worth checking your insurance.

I think David Gerald had the stock (or most of it).

I had my wedge done via a chap on here who I can never remember his name, M3 something I think. He owns / runs a national fitting service I think.

Sorry it's off topic, here is the windscreen contact from nearly 10 years ago, had the wedge and V8S done in rapid succession:

"Contact 530dTPhil director Mobile Windscreens www.mobilewindscreecons..uk have heard very good reports!!"

They did a good job for me smile

Presumably by "jacking points" they mean the outriggers' triangular gussets?

Probably common sense to most but never use this as a jacking point. They will bend and crack the body work

I jacked under mine to prove the chassis was good but I would never even think of jacking under the outriggers or referring to them as jacking points as a routine!

White S3 Coventry, think we have seen it before.

I owned this car about 3 years ago and sold it to a guy in Yorkshire,so it seems it was sold on again.
It did indeed have substantial work in the past.Peter Smith's rebuilt the engine due to oil pump failure, and they also rebuilt and powder coated the chassis and repainted the car,but this was all some time ago.
When I had the car it was certainly in top condition, but short of concours. The paint presented very well but had some minor flaws and the targa panels had some marks.
The "wood"strip across the dash had been replaced with a satin black panel.
The seats which are described as leather were definitely vinyl but these may have been re-covered now.
Mechanically it was all in good condition although it had the high idle speed.
When I owned it it was a £6 to £7k car.The only major thing I did to it was fit a new (correct) brake servo.
I have no idea how prices have moved since but it keeps getting re-listed due to the reserve not being met,so the seller now rates it a lot higher now.
I hope the above is useful to prospective buyers, but caveat emptor.

That is an interesting ad. I think it is a car that was sold September 2016 see post https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&... That sold for £4201. The details are still available on eBay.

Nice looking but perhaps ambitiously priced red S2 on Ebay, located in Kidlington/Oxford. No chassis or engine bay photos, even on their website. The Cazana records show big intervals in MoT’s, lots of advisories, and apparently only 281 miles covered in the past 12 years so more recommissioning might be advisable..... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1989-TVR-S2-2-9i-V6/253...

Good thread this. Been looking for another TVR (recently sold my turbo Chim and had a Cerb V8 a few years ago before that) and do all my own work/repairs etc except paint. Have a soft spot for the old 2.8i (put one in a P100 recently) so probably a series 1 for me? I've seen the ads you mention on here and some seem crazy prices and others maybe too far gone. I've been quite tempted by the black one at Amore.
Any history/views - good or bad - as its a steep learning curve all over again rolleyes

The Amore one:

Says 1994 but F plate suggests 1989?

Any other's worth looking at as you know them much better than me. beer

Can't be a '94, production had all but finished by then and they'd dumped that dreadful 2.8 long before wink
