Id think he was nicer if they were £25 each. But fair play for making them.

For £200 a pair you can afford to be a nice bloke. Sorry that's silly money. Just think where else you should be spending your next two hundred for improvements to your car ?? Still, mine are just fine so I'm biased.

Never liked the "fit" of those Sherpa indicators hence mine are sitting on a shelf in here. Fitted Ford Maverick/Nissan Terrano ones instead, much better fit to the body shape.
All IMHO of course,
Carl.

Supply and demand eh, they are hard to find, I need two, so may resort to one of the alternatives.

.. Do my S series indicators still hold the record for highest achieved price? I ebayed a boxed brand new pair many years ago and was stunned when they eventually went for something well over 200 pounds for the pair .. might have been 250 even?

I was absolutely gobsmacked .. usual price was maybe 50 pounds for a new single item, I think the fact it was a pair of brand new indicators that made them go for a sky high number at the end.
To be fair, at the time, they were incredibly rare as unsued examples, and the new re-manufactured units weren't available. If you were trying to build a concourse example at the time then that's obviously what you had to pay to secure them in the auction.

It would have to be a pampered car! They were a bit of a TVR after thought in the first place, an LDV Sherpa unit that didnt even fit perfectly. Those edges are so easy to crack and chip and they look pretty awful when they are chipped. That £100 is of course for a lens ONLY! How many c30 year old S cars have a good condition bulb holder and reflector behind the lens. Do people put new lenses on old light fittings?
After trying BMW E30 I took up the suggestion that the Nissan Terrano/Maverick units fitted, in their entirety. At a quarter of the price of the Sherpa lens only.
Matter of opinion I know but many people think they actually look more appropriate as they fit the aperture and line up with the bumper rubber. Would TVR have fitted them instead had they been available ????!!!!!

(OK, if originality is vital to you, but I could list a whole load of non original parts because the originals are simply not available. We had a bit of a laugh on this site once trying to list how many different manufacturers has supplied parts to our now modified S's!)

No, it's not! It's a complete indicator (presumably, less bulbholder). Still steep, but not quite such a bad deal.

apologies, you are correct. If I remember correctly I think I found some Toyota bulb holders that fitted the original LDV units OK.
