TVRChim500 - apologies, I borrowed your photo from a few years ago for illustrative purposes. Googling Lee from Crewe in PH, I then tracked him down. He currently has the dash etc for repair. I loved the v8s lettering on yours so have asked him to repeat.
That will be the easy bit compared with putting it back together judging how difficult it was to remove the dash from the car.
On the plus, at least I have found why the heater doesn’t work - cables not connected. Thought the levers glided too smoothly before.

Putting the dash back together is a bit easier than taking it out apart from connecting up the heater cables and refitting the sliders.

Yes, it is a lot easier to re-fit the dash if you don't reconnect the cables laugh Use nylocks here because you definitely don't want these little nuts coming loose.

If you haven't already worked it out, you'll find it easier if you remove the screws which hold the dash moulding to the tub (just below the windscreen). This allows you to get a bit more wiggle room behind. Then when the veneered panel is re-fitted push the whole assembly back into place.

Hope you've stocked up with plasters thumbup

Hi,
Hope you like the dash when you get it back. The finish on mine was excellent. Plenty of skin lost on removing and replacing the dash but it was definitely worth it. Reconnecting the heater control cables was challenging and did leave the air a little blue at times. Whilst I was in there I did replace the bulbs with LED ones to improve the brightness of the gauges.

Mike at mustangshire knows his stuff. He’s one of the people who’s interest he passed on to me and made me willing to take the jump into tvr ownership. Not sure he knows this though as I haven’t had the chance to chat with him in over 10 years!

The car will be a good one and it looks great in the photos. Only one small downside is the wheels not being original. They look too big. Original oz racing 15” split rims look great!

Split rims are are marmite thing for many Gordon. Personally I love the 8 spokes the most ( like yours) I have a set of oz splits with the 16” rears which to me make the splits look Much better as deeper dished. Seemed to handle better with that set up too.

I put these on as was more stable at speed. Sold car with originals so maybe they are included?
This was a good car!
Only sold as needed room for other cars.

The wheel size is all down to taste and I wouldn’t let it put me off. I did only say it was a small downside! It’s easily changed back to stock though. It really does look like a good car and hope it sells well. Someone will get a great one.
