I wonder if someone has retro fitted brake wear indicators? Sierra and Granada had them and that looks like a handy place to put the wire clip.
You may be right, and remains of the wiring might confirm that, but it would have been bonkers to start drilling into suspension components to screw in mounting clips. There is a tube an inch away that the wire could be simple strapped to.

2 pack epoxy paint all the way.

Post from a while back.

Do not have nightmares when you click on the links for the paint and see the price.

You can get it cheaper.

Where abouts in the country are you ? email if you want to keep that private.

If you are anywhere near the Northwest region, i may be able to help with the paint, or some of it at least.

Totally understand if want nothing to do with this area at the moment because of the present covid situation.

Perfect timing as is always the case with me, picking the chassis up from the coaters tomorrow with it's shiny new black powder coat.
The more I get into this project, the more convinced i am that I'll go original where possible as Trev's engineers built it the way it was built for a reason.
Total bugger too as I'm in Crewe next week and would happily have dropped in for a tin of the "right" stuff.
Thanks so much for your offer, I take it you've done an S from the ground up too ?
Best

Epoxy primer and a hard wearing single stage should do the job.

Full body lift was on my Chimaera. I did learn the hard way on my first TVR which was an S3.

On the S i removed the engine, gearbox, diff, and fuel tank and then cleaned, prepped

and painted the chassis lay on my back with the car on axle stands.yikes

In hindsight it would have been easier to lift the body.

Thanks all for suggestions and advice.
The more I get into this restoration, the more I think I'm going to try and return everything to standard where possible.
To that end, I had the repaired chassis powder coated in it's original black and it came back last weekend.
Thanks to Charlie at Starlight Coatings just off the bottom of Edinburgh
Now the fun begins !
