A crack on the windscreen of my S3 has been gradually increasing over the past few months. this mornings it has gone from about an inch to about 3 in the space of a couple of miles. Its now frightningly close to the end of the screen. firstly, is it safe to drive for a couple of days until i can get it fixed.

secondly, can anyone recommend somewhere in the south that can fit a new screen and be gentle on the surrounding fibreglass????

please help !

When I bought my S2 it had recently had the windscreen replaced by Autoglass in Portsmouth, it was an insurance job and cost the previous owner £50, they did a perfect job.
Have you checked your insurance policy as they often name a company to use.
About driving the car with a crack, depends I suppose partly upon what roads you are likely to drive on, the smoother the better but once it starts to go it will no doubt carry on.
Best of luck

Just drive it for now.The screen won't collapse. It's only cracked in one of the laminates.

There was a recent post about replacement windscreens which it would be worth your while havinf a read of. I think the jist of it was that someone like Autoglass should be able to do the job, but you need to get a fitter who knows what they're are doing otherwise the interior trim and/or the external GRP on the A pillars could get damaged.
